——————RULES OF THE COURSE——————

Please help all other players and users on the course to have an enjoyable experience.

General Play - Disc Golf is played just like ball golf. Instead of using a ball & club, a Disc is thrown towards a basket. After the first throw, the Disc is thrown again from where it landed. Scoring is kept by counting the number of throws it takes to make the Disc land in the basket. Additional points are added as penalties occur. The player with the lowest score wins.

Teeing Off - The first throw of each hole takes place at the tee. The player must throw the Disc within the tee area. The player may run or take steps before the throw. The player may follow through and step past the tee boundary as long as the Disc has been released before any part of the body touches the ground past the boundary or else a penalty is incurred and a stroke is added to the player’s score.

On the first hole, players tee off in the order of their names placed on the score card. For subsequent holes, the player with the lowest score on the previous hole goes first.

Fairway Rules - After teeing off, the following throws take place from where the Disc lands, the lie, until the Disc lands in the hole’s basket. A marker, or the thrown Disc itself, can be used to mark the lie. The Disc must be thrown with the planting foot being on the line of play and within one foot behind the lie.

A running start is permitted as long as the Disc is released according to the previous rule. Discs are thrown in order of farthest to closest to the basket.

Putting - A throw is considered a putt when the Disc lies within the Circle, the area within a 30-foot radius of the basket. A running start and/or follow through steps are not permitted in the Putting green.

The Disc must come to rest in the basket before any steps towards the basket can be taken; otherwise, a falling putt penalty is incurred and a stroke is added to the player’s score. Discs are thrown in order of farthest to closest to the basket.

Out-of-Bounds - The Disc is considered out-of-bounds if:

- The Disc lands in any area marked out of bounds.

- The Disc lands in any water hazard (pond or creek).

- The Disc is unreachable from the ground.

When a Disc is considered out-of-bounds, a penalty is incurred and a stroke is added to the player’s score. The player may rethrow the Disc from the previous lie or move the Disc in bounds within three feet of where the Disc first went out-of-bounds.

Course Courtesy - Please be courteous to all other players on the course. Insure that no one is in your way as you make a throw. Please yield to all vehicles. Please use respectable language. Please do not litter, damage the course, or hurt vegetation in any way. Please do not stray onto parts of the property that are not on the disc golf course.

In order to play disc golfyou need at least 3 disc golf discs (preferably 6), a bag to carry your discs, some course-appropriate accessories (water, snacks, disc retreiver, towel, mini marker disc, sharpie), and a course to play disc golf on. We’ve got you covered. Check in at the Pro Shop if you need anything.

What do the numbers on a disc golf disc mean? The four numbers on a disc golf disc are a flight ratings system that represent the true characteristics of a disc golf disc as it flies through the air, including the speed, glide, turn, and fade of the disc. Speed = how hard the disc must be thrown.
